ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE

In a constantly changing field, the most advanced methods o

strength & conditioning is the most important point of emphasis.

"I did this ten years ago, so it must work now" is not good enough.

Here are the 4 main areas addressed in the training.

1 STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength is the base for everything you will do as an athlete. As that base increases, it opens doors to develop more power. Many young athletes require more size and strength to play at a higher level. Methods to address these areas are based in heavy squats, presses, pulls and heavy eccentric training.

2 POWER & SPEED

Training for power gets athletes to develop force quickly. Training speed-based
lifts, resisted plyometrics, resisted sprinting and free sprinting are all key
areas of training.

3 MOBILITY & STABILITY

Increased mobility helps with creating more efficient, pain-free movement patterns. Assessments at the beginning of a training program, along with more assessments interspersed in training programs, are key for this area.

4 RECOVERY

To prevent injury and maximize recovery, athletes will be instructed in the most advanced and cost-effective forms of recovery. Getting the body to improve circulation and maintain efficient stability/mobility are major points in this area.

BASEBALL INSTRUCTION

Mechanics have been a point of emphasis in baseball training for years. Far too often, drills will fail to translate to the field. Instead of constant drills on mechanics, our baseball-specific training consists of 3 main areas.

1 POWER

Increased power output and efficiency of movements can be addressed
through overload/underload, contrast, intent, and exercises addressing
rotational movement.

2 VISION & REACTION

The ability to read and react quickly translates to all sports, especially baseball. This is addressed through training hitting and fielding against quicker reaction times and forcing players to react quickly through various drills.

3 LIVE TRAINING

For hitters, applying drill work against a real pitcher on a consistent basis is extremely important. It gives a gauge of where you are currently as a player and what you need to address in your training.
